EA managed to make waves with their ratings for Madden 20. It seems there could be a bit of a competition brewing between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans going into tho 2019 NFL season.

There is no question that both teams are loaded with talent across the board, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Bears personnel ultimately proved to be equal to that of the Texans' after each team garnered 88 ratings on defense via EA.com:

“For Chicago, the unit is fronted by 99 Club member, LOLB Khalil Mack,” EA.com wrote. “FS Eddie Jackson (91 OVR) is a Superstar X-Factor like his teammate, Mack. That’s a scary combination for any opposing quarterback. Toss in CB Kyle Fuller (89 OVR) and you can see why this Bears unit should roar out of the gate in Madden 20.”

Meanwhile, the Texans defense is headlined by their pair of Pro Bowl edge rushers.

“Houston is loaded with firepower all over the defense. On the front lines, Superstart X-Factor beasts like LE J.J. Watt (97) overall and ROLB Jadeveon Clowney (92 overall) are lurking. In the backfield, FS Justin Reid (84 overall) and CB Johnathan Joseph (83 overall) will create turnovers and make passing extremely difficult for the opposition.”

Both teams certainly stand out on paper, so it should hardly come as any surprise that their defense was well-respect in the Madden ratings. It appears picking one over the other would have been splitting hairs at that point for the developers.

It is safe to say that both the Bears and Texans have high expectations for the 2019 NFL season. Aside from making their plans come to fruition, each of the defenses will be looking to establish an edge moving forward with the rating being subject to change throughout the 2019 campaign.
