There's a very long time between now and Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. However, that doesn't mean the NFL isn't already planning.

The Super Bowl that year is set for 2024. There are a few problems though. And according to Ben Fischer of Sports Business Daily, those problems could lead to the NFL moving the Super Bowl out of New Orleans.

“The NFL is considering pulling Super Bowl LVIII from New Orleans, two sources familiar with the issue tell me. Such news would surely disappoint those who annually attend the Super Bowl festivities, as NOLA is always listed as a top spot to the host the event. The problem facing the league? A combination of the new collective bargaining agreement and an early Easter in 2024.”

As Fischer points out in the article, the new collective bargaining agreement and an early Easter that year could spell doom for the big game happening in New Orleans.

With the extra game, the Super Bowl would be played on February 11. That's just two days before Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras is already a massive “party” for lack of a better term. The entire city seems to get involved. And it would be very hard to hold any sporting event during that, let alone the biggest of the year.

There are already so many people going to the city to enjoy the festivities of Mardi Gras. Now try holding even more people who are coming for the football.

Then imagine planning around the entire thing. Trying to get places would probably be absolutely miserable. And that could certainly cause problems on the day of the big game

With all of this in mind, it would make sense for the NFL to move the Super Bowl and just avoid the situation altogether. It's simply far too close to Mardi Gras. And New Orleans trying to work around all that just seems like it could lead to disaster.
