The Cleveland Browns are going to be without starting cornerbacks  Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams for the third straight week when they face off against the San Francisco 49ers, according to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.

Both players hurt their hamstring during Friday's practice leading into the Los Angeles Rams game and have missed the last two games.

The only good news to this story is neither guy practiced at all this week, so it gave the backups another full week to get ready to face Jimmy Garrapolo and the rest of the 49ers offense.

Terrence Mitchell and T.J. Carrie have been getting the majority of the playing time while Ward and Williams have been out, and they have done a good job all things considered. During Week 3, it was Juston Burris, who got the majority of the work as the third cornerback. During Week 4, the team changed their gameplan and instead used three safeties Jermaine Whitehead, Damarious Randall, and Eric Murray, most often.

Garrapolo has been up and down so far this season, but he is going to be a good challenge for a shorthanded Browns secondary. One of the significant issues that Garrapolo has had this year is throwing interceptions, and through three games, he has four interceptions.

If Mitchell or Carrie can get an interception or two, that will help the offense, and it could be enough to help the Browns pull the upset on the road. If they can win, that would be enough to pull them into a tie for first place in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens.
