Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is preparing for a big season and to do that, he has cut down his weight. According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Garrett played last season at 272 pounds but this season is down to 262 pounds.
Garrett said on Saturday that with the extra weight off he is feeling lighter on his toes and his feet and is ready for a big season.
“My body fat’s a little bit down, my weight’s a little bit down but I’m feeling lighter on my toes and a little bit faster, fast like I was in college,” Garrett said Saturday via Pro Football Talk.
Garrett played at a lighter weight when he was at Texas A&M, and he hopes this will help him get back some of the speed he feels like he has lost.

It is scary that Garrett thinks he can get better because he has already wreaked havoc on opposing offenses since coming into the league. Garrett also feels like he was disrespected with the NFL top 100's list that is released on NFL Network every year, and he is using that for extra motivation.
“I’ll never be anything higher than No. 49 again unless I’m ending my career, then it’s time to get out of there,” Garrett said. “If I reach 49 again, it’s time to call it a day, but bigger and better things are ahead for all of us and myself. It just adds fuel to the fire.”
