It's the much-anticipated debut of Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield on Thursday night, but he is going to have to wait a series or two before he sees the field. Tyrod Taylor is expected to play 10-15 snaps before turning the keys over to Mayfield, who will then play through the third quarter.

Brogan Roback will finish off the game in the 4th quarter, which means Drew Stanton will be the odd man out Thursday. Mayfield has really had to wait his turn during training camp, not receiving many first-team reps. That isn't something that has bothered him though, as he has always had the deck stacked again him. He is used to having to really fight out others to become a starter.

“Whenever I got to Texas Tech I wasn't given an opportunity to get out there as well,” Mayfield said via Cleveland.com. “Then when I got to (Oklahoma) I was on scout team. It's how I've always handled it. Whatever opportunity I get, to make sure I get better I need to take advantage of that.”

“Whenever I get a chance to get my reps in, that's a good challenge for me,” he said. “Whoever I'm with, I still have to do my job and the most important thing for me is raising their expectations and their level of play as well.”

Mayfield also said that he isn't worried about butterflies going into this game because he has been playing his whole life and he is just treating this like another football game.
