Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri says he plans on playing next season. The fun kicker in that statement, though, is that he apparently doesn't care where his historically great leg ends up kicking footballs next year.

Following a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the kicker made his intentions known.

“Indianapolis is home to me and my family. I love the Irsay family, but I understand this is a business,” Adam Vinatieri said. “I just know I’m going to play another year.”

On Saturday, the veteran kicker actually missed two field goal tries again against the Ravens. To be fair to him, one was actually blocked, while the other barely missed from 60 yards out at the end of the first half. The 60-yard-attempt would have been a career long … by three full yards.

“I felt I really hit it well,” he said of the attempt. “I just kept waiting for the officials to put their hands up, but I guess it was a little short. It left my foot and it felt well. I thought I had enough. When they sent me out there I had enough confidence that I could make that kick.”

Vinatieri is 44-years-old, and while that might seem ancient relative to people in the NFL, he's not exactly playing running back. It will obviously be interesting to see if he remains with the Colts or goes to a team a little closer to making a Super Bowl run.
