Patrick Mahomes keeps making history as the Kansas City Chiefs outscored the Carolina Panthers in Week 9. The former MVP added another accomplishment to his list of achieved milestones, becoming the quickest quarterback to reach 100 touchdown passes in NFL history.

While legendary quarterbacks such as Dan Marino and Kurt Warner were players that boasted that list long before his arrival, Mahomes was able to achieve the accomplishment in only 40 games for the Chiefs, surpassing both Hall of Famers previous records.

Mahomes and the Chiefs have been known for the efficient, and at times flashy, conversions when in striking range of the end zone.

The 25-year old field general has produced nothing short of stellar performances in the 2020-21 season as well. He's completed 66.9 percent of his passes coming into Week 9 for 2,315 yards, resulting in 21 touchdowns. If he continues his commanding performances, he'll be on par to possibly break his 50-touchdown mark he made during the 2019 season. He finished his latest outing against the New York Jets throwing for an astounding 416 yards along with five touchdowns, which led to a 35-9 blowout in the Chiefs' favor.

Through eight weeks of play for the Chiefs, Mahomes has once again re-entered the conversation for MVP. His playing against the Panthers on Sunday will help further those talks if he continues his current level of playing. He's completed 28-of-43 passes for 375 yards along with three touchdowns as Kansas City held off Carolina, 33-31.

With those kind of numbers for the Chiefs, one could assume that Mahomes may be also taking personal note of his candidacy in the MVP conversations.
