Kansas City, Missouri, and Arrowhead Stadium, were selected as one of eleven cities and venues in the United States to play host to a World Cup game in 2026. It's a huge honor for the city of Kansas City, as one of the sporting world's most coveted events will be played at its football stadium. Patrick Mahomes was fired up after hearing that Kansas City had won a World Cup bid, taking to Twitter to celebrate the news.

It's safe to say you can expect to see Mahomes and Co. with some of the best seats in the house when the World Cup comes to Arrowhead Stadium.
A total of 16 cities across North America were selected to host World Cup games after the region had won the rights to host the tournament in 2026. The 2022 World Cup will take place in Qatar in November, and the following tournament will be all across North America four years later.
FIFA sent representatives to tour more than a dozen cities across the United States in October, scouting them as potential venues for the 2026 tournament. They were impressed with the Chiefs' home, and elected to run with Arrowhead
Stadium as a host venue. In all, 11 cities in the United States will host games, while Canada will have two host cities, and Mexico will have three.
The United States' cities selected to host matches include Kansas City, New York/New Jersey, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Philadelphia. Canada will have games held in Toronto and Vancouver, while the three Mexican cities that figure to host are Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Mexico City.
