The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in a highly competitive Week 17 matchup. These are two of the best teams in the AFC and certainly a matchup that could potentially happen once again in the playoffs, so let's make some Chiefs-Bengals Week 17 predictions.

Although Kansas City has already secured the AFC West, this is still a game that they can prove a lot to some people, especially on the defensive side of the ball. They're coming off arguably their best win of the season as they were able to take down the Pittsburgh Steelers, 36-10, in a game that they were completely dominant in.

Kansas City Chiefs Week 17 Predictions

3. The defense shows they can get stops on an elite offense

There haven't been many problems with the Chiefs of late during their long winning streak. They have killed the agenda around them that they can't get stops against elite offenses, and there is no better week to continue proving that than going up against the Bengals.

Kansas City is going to continue its dominance on the defensive side of the ball and hold the Bengals to 21 points. This doesn't seem like a great game for a defense because they are still going to give up 21 points, but only giving up 21 against a team like the Bengals is certainly a win in the Chiefs' book because they are going to be able to score more than that and walk away with a victory.

2. Patrick Mahomes does his usual thing

There have been some worries about Patrick Mahomes' play this season, and that's because he has not limited his turnovers at times. Some of that has admittedly been due to his receivers not catching passes that they need to catch, but he also made a lot of questionable decisions earlier this season.

But last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was able to go 23-of-30 with 258 yards and three touchdowns. He would have had even more yards and touchdown passes if he was able to stay in the game longer, but Kansas City decided to pull the starters in the fourth quarter because of the big lead.

Mahomes is going to continue his hot play and continue proving why he is a top-three quarterback in all of football. He will not have any interceptions once again, but this time he will throw for over 300 yards while also adding in three more touchdowns.

1. Kansas City works closer toward securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC

Since the Chiefs have already clinched the AFC West, the only thing that they necessarily need to worry about now is staying healthy and making sure that they get the No. 1 seed in the AFC so that the playoffs can go through their home field.

They're going to take care of business against a tough Cincinnati Bengals team on Sunday, and that's going to help them secure their spot as the No. 1 team in the AFC heading into the playoffs. Winners of eight straight games, Kansas City is looking like a Super Bowl favorite again.
