Ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, the Chiefs are looking like strong candidates to come out of the week with a winning record, as Patrick Mahomes and Co. will be playing near full strength against a short-handed Packers team. Still, though, as Green Bay was able to take down the dominant Arizona Cardinals with a bevy of absences, this Packers-Chiefs game is unclear, and we've got plenty of bold predictions ready for it.
The Chiefs are coming off of an ugly 20-17 win against the New York Giants in which Daniel Jones had to lead an injury-ravaged offense, but a win is a win nonetheless. Though KC was under constant pressure all night, it was encouraging to see that Mahomes' connection with Tyreek Hill was alive and well, as they linked up 12 times for 94 yards and a touchdown during the contest. The defense also played very well, coming up with 3 sacks and an interception.

With newly acquired Melvin Ingram in the fold, the Chiefs are looking good enough to enter the contest as favorites by over a touchdown, but a good showing from Packers backup QB Jordan Love could make this a great game. Here are 4 bold predictions for this Week 9 afternoon contest.
Chiefs Week 9 Predictions
4. Mahomes bounces back for multi-touchdown, 0-interception game
Despite last week's win, Mahomes was under constant pressure, threw an interception for the seventh game in a row, and barely eclipsed a 60% completion rate. It's been a difficult adjustment period for the Chiefs as they've struggled to consistently move the ball downfield, but a Green Bay secondary without lockdown corner Jaire Alexander presents a great opportunity to bounce back. The Pack have a solid pass rush, but Mahomes' bevy of weapons will allow this to be a great game for him.
3. Chiefs defense picks off Jordan Love twice
The Chiefs recently added Melvin Ingram to the pass rush fold, and will have Frank Clark healthy as well. That will mean a ton of pressure on Jordan Love, who has never started an NFL game in his career. Throwing the ball away and taking sacks can make young quarterbacks desperate to make some big plays, and that will give the Chiefs some big opportunities to come away with interceptions. They'll do just that.
2. Travis Kelce bounces back for monster 100-yard, touchdown performance
Kelce has had a quiet year relative to his standards, and even struggled last week with drops and a huge fumble. He's always been a dominant force in his career, though, and will certainly be looking to bounce back from last week with a vengeance. That doesn't bode well for the Packers, as they'll have to send extra safety help to not get burned by Hill, which will leave Kelce open plenty underneath. He's going to have a monster game.
1. Chiefs escape Arrowhead victorious with a last-second field goal
The Chiefs are big favorites, but this Green Bay team is resilient and knows how to adapt to personnel changes on their own side. It's going to be a battle as Jordan Love exceeds expectations, but Harrison Butker will pull through with a long field goal late in the game for a Chiefs victory.
PREDICTION: Chiefs 27, Packers 25
