Le’Veon Bell likely won’t be playing tonight when the New York Jets open their preseason, but fans worried about a possible lack of chemistry shouldn’t be too worried. According to the superstar running back, he doesn’t seem too concerned about missing out on any rhythm building with his team, as they’ve been doing that elsewhere.

While Bell has a very specific style of running, his offensive line won’t get the chance to rehearse it in live-action just yet. According to Bell, that might take time, but it will come.

“We’re going to find our base run plays that we run well,” Bell said (via Pro Football Talk).

“It’s just going to take time to find what runs we want or what’s comfortable for us. Once we find those base runs and we’re comfortable with them, the run game is going to just gel. We don’t need to have 50 run plays. We could have eight of them and run those eight really well.”

Thanks to the unorthodox and more patient style of running that Bell utilizes, many have wondered how long it would take for him to get in sync with his offensive line. While the team has been practicing during training camp, Bell says everyone has been “getting in that rhythm” when it comes to figuring out what will work best for everyone.

Recently, the team signed center Ryan Kalil, so they’ll also have another new face to include when it comes to learning. Thankfully for Bell and the Jets, the team still has about a month to get things sorted, and with Bell likely playing in at least one preseason game, the team will have a chance to figure itself out in live-action before the regular season.
