The New York Jets could be wheeling and dealing once again.
New York owns the immensely valuable second pick of the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft (no. 34 overall)–set to resume on Friday. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jets GM Joe Douglas has been the recipient of trade offers from numerous teams looking to move up to snag first-round talents.
With the #Jaguars soon to be on the clock at 33, it’s likely they make that pick. And the #Jets are receiving significant interest in a potential trade at 34, I’m told. We could see some early action as teams scramble up for players they thought would be first-rounders.

The Jets have a litany of holes to plug throughout the roster, which could tempt Douglas to trade down in order to net more picks. New York is expected to seek a cornerback and pass rusher sooner rather than later.
Article Continues BelowMidway through the first round, Douglas cashed in some of the draft pick capital he's amassed over the past two years. New York traded up nine spots (from no. 23 to no. 14) to select former USC guard Alijah Vera-Tucker. The move cost the Jets the no. 23 pick and two third-rounders (no. 66 and no. 86), while the Minnesota Vikings sent back a fourth-rounder (no. 143).
Following the Vikings deal, the Jets have no third-round picks, at the moment. Douglas could change that by swapping no. 34, among his many options.
The team hopes Vera-Tucker, who will likely play left guard, will join 2020 first-round pick Mekhi Becton and provide foundational long-term protection up-front for ex-BYU QB Zach Wilson, whom New York drafted with the no. 2 overall pick.
