Things appear to be looking up for the Philadelphia Eagles as they head into the 2022 season. They have an up-and-coming quarterback in Jalen Hurts, and while they had a lot of talent surrounding him on offense last season, they went out and got him a top-tier wide receiver in AJ Brown this offseason, which could help the offense drastically improve.
Much of that depends on Hurts and his progression, though. Reports have begun to filter out that Hurts has struggled during offseason practices for the Eagles, which has led many fans to question whether or not the offense could be set to take that next step forward after all:

Hurts' reported struggles in that 10-play series have drawn a lot of attention, including from his new teammate. Brown was quick to fire back at these “fake” reports on Twitter, and even gave his own facetious report on what actually happened during that 10-play stretch that Hurts' pundits are referencing:

Brown is going to bat for Hurts here, which is a good sign that the two are working on building some chemistry before they take the field for their first season together. But Hurts' struggles, whether real or fake, have to be concerning for Eagles fans everywhere.
Having guys like Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Miles Sanders on offense will help Hurts, but ultimately he's going to be in control of the offense on a weekly basis for Philly. If he's struggling in 7-on-7 drills, that's probably not a good sign for the offense.
Brown clearly isn't buying into Hurts' reported struggles, and even if Hurts is struggling, there's still a lot of time for him to overcome these issues. Having Brown will help, but the Eagles' offense may have some more work to do before the season starts up.
