The coronavirus pandemic is hurting everyone. That seems to be especially true to a lot of employees that are losing their jobs. The San Francisco 49ers realize this.

In the sports world, which includes the 49ers, that's a lot of people. And we aren't talking about the athletes. We are talking about the employees of the team and of the stadiums and arenas. These workers aren't assured of pay when all the leagues shut down due to the pandemic.

A lot of players, and teams, have committed to giving money to the employees. It started in the NBA, with Kevin Love and Mark Cuban making the headlines first, and with 19-year-old Zion Williamson taking it to the next level.

Now the NFL seems to be following suit. According to Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers are committing $500,000 to support their employees and the greater community around them.

This is something we are seeing more and more of. The 49ers seem to be committing the money to basically continue paying the salaries of the employees.

As for the “greater community” it's tough to tell exactly what that will be going into from the 49ers. It could be something for hospitals, shelters, helping the homeless or helping people that are struggling in this time.

Truthfully, it could be used on a number of things. But that's not the point of the article. It is to point out that the 49ers are attempting to help in this time of crisis. And hopefully more and more teams follow suit.

There is no reason to let this situation tear everyone apart. Working together and helping each other will only make everything better. And the 49ers seem to be on that same way of thinking as they help everyone take a small step in the right direction.
