After years of searching, the Houston Texans finally have their franchise quarterback in the form of the rookie, Deshaun Watson. Tom Savage may have started the season as their guy, but now Watson has the football and it may have been the best decision head coach Bill O'Brien ever made in Houston.

Although the Texans are only 3-3 after a win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, Watson continues to put on a show week after week. The rookie gunslinger threw for three more touchdowns on Sunday which set a rookie milestone, according to ESPN's Sarah Barshop.

With three touchdowns on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has the most passing touchdowns by a rookie through six games since the NFL-AFL merger.

He now has 15 on the season after throwing for three scores in the Texans' 33-17 victory Sunday.

Watson's three touchdown performance put him ahead of Marcus Mariota of the Tennessee Titans. Mariota threw for 13 touchdowns to set the previous mark, via Barshop.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota held the previous record, with 13 touchdowns in 2015.

It seems as though Watson has become a household name for his play during the first six weeks of the 2017 campaign. Initially, Watson was given the nod over Savage due to his mobility and the dynamic he brought to the position. Now it appears he can do anything under center and is quickly earning the distinction as one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Whether Watson can continue to light up the scoreboards and grace the highlight reels on a weekly basis remains to be seen, but he's definitely given the Texans reason for optimism moving forward.
