The Colorado Avalanche are in the midst of a fantastic season again, with a strong chance to go deep in the upcoming 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. They’re excited. Their fans are, too. But let Avs defenseman Josh Manson remind Colorado what could have made this season even sweeter for all.

Manson knows that because he played eight seasons in Anaheim threads before getting traded to the Avs for Drew Helleson and a second-round pick in 2023.

For the record, the Avs have scored at least five goals in a game a total of 24 times this season already. They have even done that twice in the last three games, including last Wednesday’s 9-3 victory at home over the Los Angeles Kings. If you’re wondering how many times the Anaheim Ducks have done that this season, they’ve pulled that feat off 12 times (six times in 2021 and another six since the start of 2022).

Although no such promo exists at the moment in Colorado, Avs fans could care less about that as long as they keep on seeing Mikko Rantanen and company consistently find the back of the net, as they gear up for a return trip to the playoffs.

The Avs have made the postseason in each of the last four seasons but have not progressed beyond the second round in that span.
