New Orleans Pelicans forward Nikola Mirotic has been nursing an ankle injury recently, but it looks like Mirotic is ready to get back on the court.

Nikola Mirotic has been a tremendous contributor on offense since joining the Pelicans last season via trade with the Chicago Bulls. The former first round pick has been a nice complement to superstar Anthony Davis. Mirotic has averaged 20.6 points and 11.7 rebounds and has started each game he has played in this season.

The Pelicans have an incredibly talented roster and are not often talked about amongst some of the best teams in the league. Jrue Holiday and Julius Randle offer fantastic playmaking ability in addition to Mirotic and AD. New Orleans is not off to the best start considering they were without Davis and recently have been without Mirotic.

New Orleans has been on a 3-game win streak and things can only go up from here with the return of their sharp-shooting forward. The Timberwolves are struggling mightily recently and find themselves second to last in the Western Conference only ahead of the Phoenix Suns. The Pelicans could take advantage of a team who just lost star Jimmy Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers and keep their win streak going.

If the Pelicans remain healthy, they have a serious chance to make some noise in the Western Conference this season. They average 118.3 points a game and while the offense is there, it's clear New Orleans has not been entirely strong on defense.
