Since entering the league last season, Jamal Murray has made a name for himself as a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc, as well as a very efficient free throw shooter. He had one of the highest percentages from the charity stripe last year and has rarely missed from that distance.

However on Thursday during the game between the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks, the Kentucky product uncharacteristically missed more than one free-throw attempt in a game for the first time this season, according to Michael Gallagher of NBC Sports.

Heading into the game, Jamal Murray was averaging 92.4 percent from there but ended the night with a 3-of-5 clip. Despite his 60 percent shooting though, the good news for him and the Nuggets was they still came out with the huge win, 134-123. The Canadian international had another solid outing, finishing with 26 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. He was also one of six players from their side who recorded double digits in scoring, led by unicorn big man Nikola Jokic’s triple-double of 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 17 assists.

The Bucks, on the other hand, saw their two-game winning streak snapped and their record drop to 32-24 for the season. They are still in fifth place in the Eastern Conference and will still have a chance to move up the standings after the All-Star break.

However, it can still be seen as a missed opportunity for them to overtake the Washington Wizards, especially playing in their home court, BMO Harris Bradley Center, on the night.
