Jamal Murray was feeling good with the Denver Nuggets up big in the second half of Game 5 against the Portland Trailblazers. In fact, he felt so good that the usual pull-up jump shooter brought out the hops with an unexpected putback throwdown to put Denver up by 23 in the third quarter.

Murray isn't known as high-riser. But it seems like the thigh injury he sustained earlier in the series is a thing of the past with this nasty dunk in traffic.

The Canadian guard turned in a solid performance in the Nuggets' impressive 124-98 victory at home. Murray finished with 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting, doing his damage mostly on drives and layups inside the paint. He also did a good job finding his teammates with nine assists on the night.

Tonight wasn't quite as impressive as his two previous games in Portland. He scored 34 points in both games and was cool in the clutch with six free-throws to ice Game 4 for Denver. Nevertheless, his 11-point second quarter sparked Denver's run that helped them pull away from the Blazers.

Denver came out with a huge haymaker in Game 5 to stun the Blazers with the first blowout victory of the series. All-Star big man Nikola Jokic had another dominant performance, notching 25 points and 19 rebounds, while veteran forward Paul Millsap came through with 24 points and eight rebounds.

The Nuggets are now just one win away from making a return trip to the Western Conference Finals after 10 years. They have a chance to close out the series on the road on Thursday.
