The Indiana Pacers failed to get the series lead back against the Cleveland Cavaliers, as they lost to LeBron James and company, 98-95, Wednesday. James came through at both ends of the floor late in the game to secure the win for the Cavs, including a monstrous block on Pacers guard Victor Oladipo’s layup attempt that could have given Indiana a two-point lead with under five seconds left in regulation.

It clearly is now a source of a lot of frustration for the Pacers, who lost via a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from James on the next possession.

Following the contest, Victor Oladipo spoke to the media during the customary postgame conference and had this to say about the play that led to the Cavs forward's block:

“I got a step on him (LeBron James), felt like I even got grabbed on the way to the rim, tried to shoot a layup, it hit the backboard, then he blocked it. There’s replays. I guess it’s a tough plays at the time for them, but it was a goaltend. I mean, it’s hard to even speak on it. It just sucks, honestly. It really sucks.”

Goaltend or not, the game is now over, and the Pacers can’t spend too much time sulking about what they believe is an egregious non-call. Their priority is to win this Friday at home to tie the series at 3-3 and force a winner-take-all Game 7.

Victor Oladipo will also have to find a way to bounce back after scoring just 12 points in Game 5 while also shooting only 2-for-15 from the field.

Indiana has won six of its last 10 home games dating back to March.
