The Gronk has retired, and Bill Polian would like to wish Rob Gronkowski nothing but the best in his newfound retired mode.

Polian joins the chorus of the likes of Julian Edelman wishing the former Patriot tight end well as he enters his next chapter of life.

As we'd previously reported, Gronkowski made the announcement of his retirement on Sunday. He'd said, at the time, that he'd had enough of football and just wanted to take it easy for a while.

According to Business Insider, though, he has 54 million reasons to take it easy. The outlet reported that Gronk hadn't spent any of the money he made during his NFL career, instead spending only his endorsement earnings. He advised other players to follow a similar plan and watch their spending overall.

Further according to the outlet, Rob Gronkowski has a savings strategy that isn't far from the financial habits of other successful millionaires and billionaires, many of whom also live relatively frugal lifestyles.

And while, certainly, there are no shortage of Gronkowski detractors, the overwhelming majority of football's intelligentsia applauds Gronk and his decision to go out on his own terms.

Rob Gronkowski, himself, said that he preferred to go this route in his career, and leave the game on his own terms — just as he ran the game.

“It makes it way more satisfying. It was a grind, no doubt about it. It was a hard year, but we stuck together, and it made us stronger definitely in the end.”

The Patriots will now start to figure out the best replacement for him.
