The New England Patriots need wide receiver help going forward and CBS Sports thinks they will fill that need by drafting Alabama standout Henry Ruggs III with the 23rd overall pick.

The Patriots tried to trade for Mohamed Sanu to bolster the position, but he was a bust. The team has Julian Edelman and they drafted N'Keal Harry with a first-round pick last season, but outside of that, there are a lot of question marks.

CBS Sports gave the following snippet for why the Patriots will select Ruggs III.

The 2019 season exposed New England's lack of talent and consistency at the wide receiver position. Ruggs is probably the fastest player in the first round. Bill Belichick will know how to scheme him open.

Once Ruggs comes into the league he will instantly become one of the fastest wide receivers in the NFL. This is a player who could probably become a world-class sprinter if he decided to focus on the Olympics.

Speed is what everyone talks about, but there is more to his game than that. He is also a physical player who isn't afraid to shy away from contact. He is smaller, but that doesn't mean he is afraid to fight for extra yards, something that will translate to the NFL. During the 2019 season with the Crimson Tide, Harry hauled in 40 passes for 746 yards and seven touchdowns.

If the Patriots decide they want to spend back-to-back first-round picks on wide receivers, Ruggs would be a great asset to their offense.
