Per the Associated Press, New England Patriots teammates and brothers Devin and Jason McCourty will not be traveling to the White House. This is if the team is invited by President Donald Trump. They both “highly doubt” that they would make the trip with the team.

Defensive back Devin McCourty will probably be retiring after the win. He had previously dodged questions about his retirement, telling NBC Sports:

“I do look at it if we can win this game, win it with my brother, I don’t know what else I could do that would top that. I’m just trying to make sure I enjoy this season and enjoy these last couple of days with these guys… I’ve been focused on this season. It’s been a lot of fun this year. We’ve battled through different things, ups and downs as a team, so being here now in my ninth year and being able to go with these guys every day at work.”

McCourty has had a long and successful career with the Patriots. He came onto the scene as one of the most exciting defensive prospects in the league. In his first three seasons, he had a total of 14 interceptions with 242 tackles and 11 tackles for a loss. Since then, he's been a fine member of their secondary but hasn't put up nearly the same production.

The twins went back home to Boston on Monday afternoon to the crowd of hundreds of fans. Even though Tom Brady and Julian Edelman quite literally went to Disney World, the rest of the team went back home. McCourty was seen holding the trophy with excitement, giving Patriots fans high fives before leaving the scene.

It will be interesting to see if there is some backlash from President Trump for their choice not to attend. Perhaps they are just not huge fans of fast food.
