The NFL recently announced it has reinstated New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon for the start of the 2019 NFL season. It appears Gordon has officially made his way back to the facility.

With two games left in the preseason, New England is focused on getting Gordon up to speed once again. According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, he was recently spotted at the facility:

Josh Gordon is indeed here at the Patriots’ facility. He walked through the locker room during the media-access period, before heading into the athletic training area.

News of Gordon's reinstatement has generated plenty of hype in New England. Of course, this had been the case the first time around when they acquired him from the Cleveland Browns last offseason. Although he was unable to finish out the 2018 campaign after opting to focus on his mental health, there is good reason for the Patriots to be excited about his return.

New England came into training camp with plenty of depth in their receiving corps. Regardless, they still lacked that a true x-factor outside of wide receiver Julian Edelman to put them over the top. Meanwhile, the retirement of tight end Rob Gronkowski has left quarterback Tom Brady without one of his most explosive pass-catchers.

The Patriots have high hopes that Gordon can help fill this void once again. He finished last season with 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns.

The onus will now be on him and New England to ensure that he can stay on the right path and finish out the 2019 campaign without any setbacks.
