Julian Edelman and the New England Patriots are set for a key Sunday night matchup with the Green Bay Packers. In what promises to be the best game of the week, the Patriots will need their star wide receiver to play a big role. They will need him to play a big role despite the fact that he has been dealing with an ankle injury that has kept him listed as questionable this week.

According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, even though Edelman is dealing with an ankle injury, he is expected to play tonight against the Packers.

Tom Brady and the Patriots' offense are going to have a great matchup against a young Packers' secondary. Edelman should be able to feast on the middle of the Green Bay defense.

In the four games that he has played since returning to the Patriots, Edelman has caught 25 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns. He has always been Brady's favorite and most trusted target and that is not going to change this evening. Having Edelman on the field gives the Patriots a different dynamic to their offense.

Needless to say, the Patriots are going to have to put up points. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks to play the game as well and the New England defense has struggled against the pass.

Both teams are going to be looking to prove a point this week. Green Bay is in desperate need of a win to keep pace in the NFC playoff race.

Expect to see Edelman on the field tonight and to be a major key for the Patriots throughout the entire game.
