Through the first few weeks of the season, there has been plenty of attention on the New England Patriots' situation concerning their group of wide receivers on the roster.

With that in mind, the team has made a move on Saturday afternoon just prior to Week 4 action against the Miami Dolphins with the decision to part ways with wide receiver Corey Coleman from the practice squad, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

It has been a rough go-around for Coleman over the last few months with his NFL career seeing some major changes as this marks the second time that he has been let go by a team. It had begun with the Cleveland Browns trading him in the midst of training camp back in August to the Buffalo Bills. He then struggled to latch onto a consistent role with the Bills that saw him get cut just prior to the start of the 2018 season and put on the open market.

Shortly following that, he was signed by the Patriots where he was put on a practice squad over the last first few weeks of the season. However, he had struggled to get any headway even with the Patriots' wide receiver core having much difficulty providing consistent production int he passing game that has contributed to their slow start out of the gate for the 2018 campaign.

Instead, the team has traded for Coleman's former teammate Josh Gordon along with the expectation of Julian Edelman to be back in the fold after his four-game suspension to begin the year is completed after Week 4. New England clearly has much confidence in their current crop of talent at the position. It also now puts Coleman back on the open market where another team could move to pick him up to get another chance to continue his NFL career.
