The New England Patriots tight end Benjamin Watson is back with the team and everyone is excited about what he brings to the table.

Watson was suspended the first four games of the season after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, and the Patriots have had to use Ryan Izzo and Matt LaCosse to fill the role.

With Watson back, he brings speed to the position and some real experience that the team has missed with Rob Gronkowski retired.

“Well, Ben’s a versatile guy, he’s a smart guy. He’s certainly made a lot of plays in his career,” offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said on a conference call via Pro Football Talk. “Just gives an element of speed and experience at the tight end position. He’s been a productive guy, made plays under pressure. So, Ben’s coming back here; it was great to have him back this offseason into training camp, and hopefully we’ll be able to move forward with him in a role that suits his skillset and our team.”

Watson had no contact with the Patriots during his suspension but he started his career with the team so he at least understands the Patriot way, and he also had training camp to get his nose in the playbook.

The Patriots currently have a perfect record and getting Watson involved is only going to give Tom Brady another target at his disposal.

This isn't good news for the rest of the league that is trying to knock off the defending Super Bowl champions.
