The New England Patriots are continuing to work on rebuilding their roster. Tom Brady moved on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Patriots eventually found their new franchise quarterback in Mac Jones. However, Jones doesn't have the offensive weapons he needs just yet.

Fortunately, the Patriots are on the hunt for exactly that this offseason. NFL Network's Mike Giardi tweeted that the legendary franchise is looking for proven wide receivers in both free agency and trade options.

Giardi specifically named Chicago Bears free agent Allen Robinson and Carolina Panthers receiver Robby Anderson.

If there's any franchise that could score multiple veteran receivers this offseason, it's the one run by Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick.

Robinson was third in receiving yards for the Bears this season. The 28-year-old recorded 38 receptions for 410 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Anderson was second in receptions and receiving yards for the Panthers. The 28-year-old recorded 53 receptions for 519 yards and five touchdowns. Neither team had a successful year or a reliable quarterback, making the Patriots a perfect team for them to increase productivity and succeed.

Jones had a few productive receivers this past season, but none reliable enough to move the needle farther than the Wild Card Round. For example, Jones relied on Jakobi Meyers for the majority of his passing attempts, but his catch rate through the regular season was only 65.9 percent.

Acquiring veteran receivers will provide both skill and leadership to the offense, which is currently led by one of the youngest quarterbacks in the league.
