New England Patriots wide receiver N'Keal Harry made his preseason debut against the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, it appears he has since been sidelined with multiple injuries.

Harry had reportedly been dealing with a right leg injury he suffered during a joint practice with the Lions. According to NFL Network's Michael Giardi, he has been unable to practice while he is still recovering.

No N'Keal Harry. Battling a variety of ailments including a hammy & a toe or ankle.

This sort of setback was hardly what Harry needed in his efforts to establish a role in the Patriots offense heading into the regular season. He has been optimistic about developing his rapport with quarterback Tom Brady, however, the injury at this point in the preseason will undoubtedly deter his efforts.

New England made quite the investment when they took Harry with the 32nd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The timing of it certainly worked out with tight end Rob Gronkowski opting for retirement this offseason. Gronkowski's absence leaves a notable void in the Patriots receiving corps and they are hoping that the rookie can potentially be part of the solution.

In order to do so, Harry will first need to earn Brady's trust. Lions wide receiver Danny Amendola even acknowledged that getting up to speed in the Patriots offense is no easy task for the young wideouts on their roster. Regardless, the 21-year-old should get ample opportunities to prove himself once he is healthy enough to return to the practice field.
