New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has found ways to have plenty of success against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Gronk and company will head to Pittsburgh this weekend in hopes of putting behind the brutal 34-33 loss to the Miami Dolphins, which saw Adam Gase's squad score on a 69-yard lateral play to win the game.

But while Gronk's numbers haven't been up to his usual standard this season, there's a reason to believe that he could have a big outing against the Steelers.

From Ryan Hannable of WEEI:

In six games, the tight end has has 39 receptions for 664 yards and eight touchdowns. His 110.6 yards per game are his highest average versus any team he's opposed more than once and the eight touchdowns are his most against any non-AFC East team.

So, how has he been able to be so good against them?

“Just playing ball,” Gronkowski said Thursday. “Just going out and doing what we’ve got to do, preparing throughout the week and going out and executing. Just executing playing and that is what we have to keep on doing. Been having a good practice week this week. Got to keep on building chemistry out there with the whole offense. When we go out there Sunday we have to be prepared mentally and physically and we have to execute plays in order to put up points.”

Those are undoubtedly impressive numbers against a single opponent, and Tom Brady would love to see his star tight end deliver once again in what sets up as an important game for both teams.

The Patriots sit at 9-4 on the season while the Steelers are 7-5-1 after their ugly loss to the Oakland Raiders in Week 14.
