It seems that the New England Patriots star tight end, Rob Gronkowski, has been spending a lot of time at Gillette Stadium lately, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.

Usually, it might not be a big deal that a player is hanging around his place of employment. However, amidst all the rumors of his retirement, this might be something significant.

No one could blame Gronkowski if he chose to retire. He has had a fantastic career where he has won three Super Bowls as part of, arguably, one of the greatest dynasties in sports history. Winning it all this year might prompt him to end things while he is on top.

Injuries are becoming more and more a part of the 29 year old's career, and it has taken its toll. The 2018 season was his worst yet from a statistical standpoint. He seemed to turn it on and be the weapon of old during the Patriots' postseason run.

Gronkowski could retire as a champion. Or he could take the adrenaline of being on the mountaintop and try to turn it into more rings. After all, he is still only 29.

His quarterback, Tom Brady, wants to stick around until he is 45. So, there are at least a few more years of having an elite arm to throw him the ball.

Gronkowski has proven that he can catch the football when it's thrown in his direction, and having his quarterback will be a huge plus.

It is hard to say what Grownkowski hanging around the stadium could mean. He might just be tending to his thigh injury, he could be getting sentimental, or he could be working his way back.

Knowing this information does not help quell the rumors of Gronk's retirement.
