The legend has finally opened up about Deflategate and did so with the individual whom many can't help but be completely honest.

Though early-released clips of Tom Brady's interview with Oprah Winfrey, the New England Patriots quarterback opened up about Deflatgate while admitting “anxiety” was the main reason he finally dropped the fight of appeal.

“Just too much anxiety. I realized I couldn’t win. It was divided attention and I was tired of that, tired of waking up and having a call with someone from the Player’s Association,” Brady said. “I said, ‘You know what, I’m going to use this as an opportunity, to have the month of September off for the first time — in like 16, 21 years — and I’m going to take advantage of this.’’’

Brady, 40, is preparing for the 19th season of his NFL career. Once he wrestled the starting job away from Drew Bledsoe back in 2001, he's played all 16 games in every year but two (2008 in which he suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 1 and 2016 in which he was suspended for his role in and actions after accusations coming in the Deflategate scandal).

In addition to revealing why he gave up his appeal, he also opened up about that month he was suspended, claiming it was the “best month off” he's ever experienced.

“Man, that was the best month off I think I’ve ever had,” he said. “In some ways, it was a great experience. I think you look back on those experiences and it was a really tough experience in my life.”

Lastly, in terms of his relationship with Bill Belichick, to nobody's surprise, Brady preaches that it's as strong as ever.

“Um, no. I mean, I love him. I love that he’s an incredible coach, mentor for me, and he’s pushed me in a lot of ways. And, like everything, we don’t agree on absolutely everything,” said Brady. “That’s relationships.”

Coming off the Super Bowl 52 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Tom Brady is on the hunt for championship No. 6, two more than any one quarterback in league history.
