While NFL fans reacted to the news of Tom Brady's official retirement announcement, folks in the New England area were busy reading and re-reading the message he shared to social media. The entire city of Boston was outraged upon the realization that Brady failed to acknowledge the Patriots in his farewell address. Well, after a few hours of getting worked up over Brady's statement, Pats fans can finally relax, as the newly-retired quarterback took to Instagram to give a highly-coveted shoutout to Patriots Nation.

Via his Instagram story, Brady shared a screenshot of Patriots owner Robert Kraft's statement. He included text in which he thanked the Patriots and Patriots Nation for their support throughout his 22 years in the NFL.

While Patriots fans likely still feel they warrant more acknowledgment from Brady as he rides off into retirement, the fan base can no longer moan that the legendary quarterback left them hanging out to dry. Sure, an Instagram story doesn't carry as much weight as a multi-part post to the social media platform, but at least he tipped his cap to the organization that enabled him to become the greatest quarterback of all time.

Brady spent 20 seasons in New England, winning six Super Bowls with the Patriots, alongside 14 Pro Bowls, three MVPs, and three First-Team All-Pro selections. Despite spending the final two seasons of his illustrious career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,  Patriots fans will forever lay claim to TB12, and rightfully so.

After all of the energy and compassion the fanbase has shown Brady, the quarterback finally gave them a shoutout amid his decision to call it a career.
