Harris was signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2016 after playing four collegiate years at the University of California in Berkeley. The 6-foot-3 wide receiver spent three seasons with Washington, appearing in 28 total games, making 40 receptions, scoring one touchdown and tallying 432 receiving yards.
Harris played 12 games with the Redskins in the 2018 season and was placed on the injured reserve list toward the end of December. New England signed the wideout as a free agent in March of 2019.
The Patriots' current receiver corps should be headlined by three-time Super Bowl champ Julian Edelman. He will be joined by Phillip Dorsett, entering his third year with New England, and 2019 first-round selection N'Keal Harry out of Arizona State. That leaves open spots for Harris, Demaryius Thomas, Josh Gordon, and Jordan Matthews.
New England is reportedly attempting to build a healthy and physical receiver corps, including the 21-year-old Harry, who has been compared to Anquan Boldin for his strength and could conceivably play tight end.
