Paul Goldschmidt is putting together another MVP-worthy season. At 34 years old, the St. Louis Cardinals first baseman has been on a tear, sitting at or near the top of the National League in the major batting categories. While he is indeed one of the best baseball players today, there’s no question that his partner in life has also been just as great. Amy and Paul reportedly met in a study hall during their freshman year at Texas State University. Initially, Amy never knew Paul played baseball. However, the two started becoming friends and became classmates in some of their classes together, which blossomed into a romantic relationship. The couple would eventually get married in October 2010.

Amy Goldschmidt, formerly known as Amy Glazier, was born in Fort Worth, Texas. Amy studied at Southlake Carroll High School, where she also played for the volleyball team. In her high school career, Amy was a two-time team captain who led the school to four district championships and two major championships. To top it all off, Amy was a three-time all-district selection and a four-year letter winner.

After graduating from high school, Amy attended Texas State University, where she met her eventual husband, Paul. Despite having a decorated high school volleyball career, Amy opted to play instead for the golf team. In her first year with Texas State University, Amy tallied the third-best stroke average of the team at 79.3 in 21 rounds. One of her best performances was at the North Texas Women’s Classic, where Amy finished in third place. During her final stint with Texas State, Amy placed 14th with a score of 234 after three rounds at the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate.

While playing for the golf team at Texas State, Amy also served as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Amy would eventually go on to complete her studies and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing.

After three years of dating, Paul would eventually propose to Amy while she was still in college. As Paul described, on a freezing cold day, he surprised Amy in an event filled with their closest friends. One year later, the couple exchanged their vows at Texas Christian University’s Robert Carr Chapel. According to the couple, they chose the location due to it being near Colonial Country Club, which was Amy’s stomping grounds in terms of golf in her younger days.

Now married, the couple eventually welcomed their first child, Jake Goldschmidt, in 2015. They also welcomed a daughter shortly after. Although it can be challenging to be a partner of a professional athlete, Amy enjoys it. In a Fox Sports Interview with Amy and five other Diamondbacks player wives back when Paul played for Arizona, they expressed the joy of making friendships and traveling together with their kids

Also during that time, Amy and Paul would visit the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The couple even initiated a fundraiser called Goldy’s Fund 4 Kids to build a center that will help find a cure for cancer and other types of blood disorders. Amy and Paul were able to collect $186,121.94.

Amy and Paul pretty much lived in Texas for their entire lives until Paul was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks. While this could’ve been a challenge, the couple fell in love with Arizona. According to Amy and Paul, Arizona offered them lots of things to love such as hiking trails, the golf course, restaurants, and a friendly community.

In 2019, Paul was traded by the Diamondbacks to the St. Louis Cardinals. With his transfer, Paul and Amy eventually moved the family to Florida. In 2020, Paul reportedly sold his mansion in Arizona. Shortly after, Amy and Paul purchased a home in Jupiter, Florida, which is located closer to the Cardinals’ spring training site.

Amy is a loving wife and mother who loves spending her time doing athletic activities and in the outdoors. And with Paul putting together a spectacular run in his baseball career, things couldn’t get any better. Nonetheless, this is all we know about Paul Goldschmidt’s wife, Amy Goldschmidt.
