Nuggets forward Paul Millsap has had an amazing four seasons in Atlanta. Millsap came to the Hawks in 2013 after spending seven years with the Jazz. Out of his four seasons in Atlanta, he was an All-Star in all of them, becoming one of the best power forwards in the league.

However, the Hawks wanted to go in another direction. Millsap was not even offered a contract by the team and he agreed to a three-year, $90 million deal with the Nuggets. Due to later complications, he was actually signed by the Hawks only to get immediately traded in a deal that sent forward Danilo Gallinari to the Clippers and guard Jamal Crawford to the Hawks.

Millsap, however, did not forget about the loyal fans in Atlanta. In a lengthy, heartfelt Instagram post, Millsap thanked the fans and the organization for how much he developed as a player.

This is certainly a very nice gesture from Millsap, who will join an emerging young team in Denver, paired in the front court with young stud Nikola Jokic. The Hawks, on the other hand, will be entering a painful rebuilding process.
