New Orleans Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis suffered a shoulder injury in Thursday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, if he responds well to treatment, there is a good chance he'll be able to play in Sunday's All-Star Game, according to a report from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports:

Davis suffered what appeared to be a left shoulder injury just before halftime of Thursday game. The former Kentucky Wildcat left the arena with his agent, Rich Paul, in the third quarter for an MRI exam. In his 16 minutes of action, he scored 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field (1-of-2 from beyond the arc), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal.

Davis, who asked the Pelicans for a trade before this season's deadline, has heard his name tossed about in the media quite a bit in recent days. Exactly how this saga will unfold going forward remains to be seen:

“To tell you the truth, this whole thing has been a dumpster fire,” Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry told ESPN, alluding to the effect Davis' trade demand has had on the rest of the team. “It's hard for guys to go through what they've been through, and to be able to come out and beat a team of that quality, I'm happy for all the guys.”

In his 45 appearances with the Pelicans this season, Davis has racked up averages of 28.1 points on 50.8 percent shooting from the field (32.3 percent from beyond the arc), 12.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1.6 steals in 36 minutes per outing.
