With the 2018-19 offseason nearing its end, several teams around the NBA are still looking for ways to bolster their rosters. One such team is the New Orleans Pelicans, who have agreed to an offer sheet with LA Clippers restricted free agent Tyrone Wallace, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

As Charania noted in his report, the Clippers signed Wallace to a two-way contract back in January and gave him a qualifying offer, which means the team will have an opportunity to match the offer proposed by the the Pelicans.

Via HoopsRumors:

Wallace was one of a handful of point guards to work out for the Pelicans in August as the club sought depth at the position. Ty Lawson, Darius Morris, and Erick Green were among the other free agents who earned a look from New Orleans, but the team apparently liked what it saw from Wallace. If the Pelicans add Wallace or another point guard to their regular season roster to join Elfrid Payton and Frank Jackson, it would allow Jrue Holiday to see more action off the ball.

Wallace, a 24-year-old native of Bakersfield, California, made 30 appearances with the Clippers last season, racking up averages of 9.7 points on 44.5 percent shooting from the field (25.0 percent from beyond the arc), 3.5 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and just under one steal (0.9) in 28.4 minutes per outing.

Wallace has spent time in the G League as well, serving stints with the Salt Lake City Stars (2016-17) and Agua Caliente Clippers (2017-18).

Whether or not the Clippers will match the offer made by the Pelicans remains to be seen. Assuming Wallace signs with New Orleans, LA would then have two days to match.
