New Orleans Pelicans guard E’Twaun Moore says David Griffin “did a great job” with the Anthony Davis trade.

Griffin got a tremendous haul from the Los Angeles Lakers in return for Davis. Moore says even though Davis is one of the best players in the league, he wasn't expecting the Pelicans to get as much as they did.

“Man, that was exciting! It was like, ‘Wow, I didn’t know we were going to get all of that back.' I just thought we’d get a couple young guys and that would be it, but we got a whole lot of young guys and draft picks,” Moore told Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype.

“David Griffin did a great job with the transaction. I don’t think it could’ve been done any better.”

The Pelicans acquired Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first round picks from the Lakers. New Orleans drafted Jaxson Haynes, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Marcos Louzada Silva in the 2019 NBA Draft with those three picks.

The Pelicans have had a helluva an offseason. They drafted Zion Williamson with the first overall pick, got a great package in return for Anthony Davis, and signed JJ Redick and Derrick Favors in free agency.

E’Twaun Moore, Jrue Holiday, Redick and Favors are going to help Ball, Hart, Ingram, Williamson, Haynes and Alexander-Walker learn what it takes to be professional and win in the NBA.

David Griffin has already had an incredible first few months as the man in charge of the Pelicans.
