The New Orleans Pelicans and Indiana Pacers were set to take to the court inside the Smoothie King Center on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the city of New Orleans was doused with rainfall as fans made their way to the arena and it was expected to remain that way until the later parts of the evening. Unfortunately for them, they had to leave the night without having watched an NBA game.

After an hour delay with arena officials attempting to stop rainwater from leaking through the roof and onto the hardwood, the New Orleans Pelicans announced that the game against the Pacers would be postponed and scheduled for a later date.

The Pelicans official Twitter account added that the team would offer refunds as soon as they became available.

The Pacers are scheduled to fly to Boston to take on the Celtics on Friday night before returning back home to host the injury-riddled Knicks on Sunday. Meanwhile, New Orleans will take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night as well as the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

Guard Darren Collison is scheduled to miss about about two-to-three weeks following a knee procedure, so the Pacers will certainly welcome playing the game when Collison is available.

Either way, this game doesn't look like it'll be rescheduled for anytime soon.
