New Orleans Pelicans guard Josh Hart defended himself over accusations that he's a dirty player after hurting both LeBron James and Anthony Davis during their game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hart was involved in two on-court accidents in the Pelicans' narrow loss to the Lakers. Early in the second quarter of the game, he was on a knee-to-knee collision with LeBron, which brought the 34-year-old down.

On the other hand, in the closing seconds of the third quarter, Hart hit Davis' elbow as he went for the ball for a last-second shot. AD sustained a sore right elbow and missed the start of the fourth quarter.

Fortunately for Lakers fans, both LeBron and Davis came out fine. LBJ finished the game with 29 points, five rebounds and 11 assists, while AD had a monster 41-point, nine-rebound outing.

However, Purple and Gold fans are not happy with Hart, who some believe was doing those risky plays to hurt the Lakers — which is his former team. The 24-year-old is having none of the accusations though, taking it to Twitter to address his play and emphasize  that he is merely playing hard.

Basketball is a contact sport, so it's unavoidable to get physical and get minor injuries. Nonetheless, there is certainly a thin line between playing hard and playing without regard to the safety of opponents.

Josh Hart, nonetheless, is fortunate that the plays he made did not cause any major injury to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
