New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday and Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis have been training together this summer even though they are no longer teammates.

The Pelicans, of course, traded Davis to the Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram and three first-round picks.

Holiday and Davis are very close friends off the court, so they are still going to have a relationship despite not being on the same team anymore.

However, the two stars are going to go at each other when the Pelicans and Lakers play since they are both fierce competitors. Holiday, who grew up a Lakers fan, is looking forward to playing against Davis even though he knows it's going to be strange seeing AD in a different uniform:

“Obviously I grew up a Lakers fan, so it’s cool to see (Davis) go there,” Holiday told Will Guillory of The Athletic. “But I still want to beat him — hands down. It’s going to be different seeing him on the other side because we know each other so well. But he knows when we play (the Lakers), it’s going to be a battle. I’m going to want that win just as badly as he does.”

The games between the Pelicans and Lakers next season are going to be must-see TV. Jrue Holiday and Zion Williamson will try to match the star power of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Luckily for Holiday, he's going to have a lot of help next to him in New Orleans. David Griffin got a tremendous haul for Davis, and the acquisitions of big man Derrick Favors and shooting guard JJ Redick were huge as well.
