Former New Orleans Pelicans player Kendrick Perkins shared a bit of wisdom with his former team on Monday. Perkins warned the franchise that if they're not careful with Zion Williamson, the pounds could add up quickly in a city with some of the best food in the United States.

Even though he is ridiculously athletic, Williamson is already the second heaviest player in the NBA. The only player who outweighs Zion is the 7-foot-3 Boban Marjanoivc, who weighs 290 pounds. The Duke phenom is a full eight inches shorter than the big man and is only five pounds lighter than him.

Regardless of these staggering numbers, Williamson is still expected to come out of the gates and play some dominant basketball as he did with the Blue Devils. In his sole year at Duke, he averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocks per game. The eye-opening stat line basically guaranteed that Williamson would be picked first overall in the 2019 draft as soon as he declared that he wouldn't return to school.

Zion has proved that he can be a great player while playing at 285 pounds. The biggest concern is his injury risk. Playing 82 games with all that weight on your frame is a tall task. The NBA has a draining regular season that can wear down someone who plays as hard as Zion does while weighing that much.

Hopefully, Willimson can stay away from the jambalaya and have a full and successful rookie season.
