After two years of creating a role for himself in the Windy City, E'Twaun Moore has earned himself a pay day. According to The Advocate, the hard-working 6-4 combo guard has agreed to a four-year, $34 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, joining a back court that includes Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans and recently drafted rookie Buddy Hield.

Moore is now 27 years old and has been in the league for five years, after being drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2011. The Indiana native will hope that this move is not just beneficial financially, but that it will light a spark in a career that has been often spent on the bench.

In this frenzied and somewhat shocking free agency period, New Orleans has already agreed a four-year, $52 million deal with forward Solomon Hill. Both Moore and Hill are versatile options for the Pelicans, as they look to build a strong, adaptive roster to accompany Anthony Davis. These moves are huge for the Pelicans, as they hope to create a winning atmosphere around Davis.

A couple of years ago, this kind of deal would have been scoffed at. Thanks to the NBA’s humongous deal with several TV companies, it seems like a great bit of business for the Southwest Division outfit.
