New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball recently went on The JJ Redick Podcast, and one of the topics that they covered was his memorable alley-oop plays involving rookie sensation Zion Williamson.

Redick praised Ball's passing ability, noting how impressed he is with Lonzo's extremely accurate half-court lobs which beautifully falls in the hands of a surging Williamson. This prompted Ball to meticulously break down his thought process during these instances.

“It looks good, but I really just aim for the corner of the backboard, really,” the Pelicans playmaker said. “I mean, as you know, Zion he's probably gonna catch it wherever you throw it. I just really try to get it over the defender, because I know he's gonna get higher than him, so as long as I do that, it's going to work out.”

As Ball admitted, it's Zion's freakish athleticism that makes his passes look good, but credit still has to be given to the Pelicans guard for his amazing court vision.

Despite Redick's continuous probing, Ball continued to deflect the praise, always reverting to Zion Williamson's insane talent.

“It's really Z to be honest. I mean he kinda gives me that look like, ‘Yo I'm about to spin out,'” Lonzo Ball explained. “Because you know how strong he is, it's just odd being that heavy at that size. Once he gets you on a certain angle you're not really going to get back in front of him. Z kind of just gives me a little sign and then he ends up spinning out, and the ball's there.”

Lucky for us, this duo appears to have a long partnership ahead of them, so we should be treated with more than a few show-stopping alley-oops from here on out.
