The Penn State football team is taking on Ole Miss football on Saturday in the Peach Bowl. It's a great bowl game, but because it is a College Football Playoff game, the Nittany Lions will have to deal with some opt outs for players going to the NFL. One Penn State player that had a decision to make on his future was defensive end Adisa Isaac. Isaac is one of the best players on the defense, and he has now made his decision regarding whether or not he will play for the Nittany Lions next season, or if he will leave for the NFL.

This won't come as a shock to anyone, but Adisa Isaac decided that he will leave for the NFL. However, he will still play for Penn State football in the Peach Bowl on Saturday. Isaac is ready to take the next step in his career, but he thinks that it is important to finish out the season with his teammates.

“[I] kind of just thought throughout this bowl prep with family and some coaches,” Isaac said, according to an article from Basic Blues Nation. “Just getting the last little thoughts out there of what I should do. I thought it was best that I should go to the NFL, but after I play this last game with my teammates. I felt like that was important to me and important to this team. So that’s something I decided to do. I just felt like this was the right time. I felt like I’ve put in enough work throughout these past two years coming off of injury to put myself in a good position to make this kind of decision.”

Isaac missed the entire 2021 season with an injury, and many thought that the Penn State star would enter the draft after last season. However, he came back for one more year, and it looks like that decision will pay off. His Nittany Lions teammate, Dvon Ellis, has been impressed with what Isaac has been able to do the last two years.

“I think after it happened, and even during the whole process, he took everything in stride, and he said to himself [that] he’s going to come back that much better,” Dvon Ellis said. “Obviously, you’ve seen him play on film. You’ve seen how he’s operated in the last 12 weeks. It’s just been really special.”

Now, Isaac has just one more game in a Penn State uniform. Going to the NFL is going to be huge, but he is soaking in these final moments with his college teammates.

“I know we try to focus on what’s next all the time, but look to your left and look to your right and give the guy next to you a hug,” Isaac concluded. “That’s what we always do in the defensive meeting room. So kind of just taking time and just taking a breath of fresh air and just enjoying it [is important this week].”

The Peach Bowl is on Saturday, and that is the last time Isaac with suit up for the Penn State football team. The game will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia at noon ET, and it will be airing on ESPN. The Nittany Lions are currently favored by 4.5 points.
