New England Patriots wide receiver Phillip Dorsett showed some flashes last season of a solid NFL player but Maurice Morton of Bleacher Report thinks he could still on the hot seat. Morton broke down one player on each team who has a lot to prove to keep his job — for the Patriots that guy is Dorsett.

Last season, Dorsett had 16 receptions through the first four weeks of the season and he was a very solid weapon for Tom Brady. The rest of the year it was a struggle though, becoming mostly invisible, finishing with only 32 catches.

The Patriots re-signed Phillip Dorsett to a one-year deal. but it only has $500,000 in guarantees. With the Patriots being very aggressive going after wideouts this off-season, Dorsett's spot on the roster is not a sure thing.

The front office also inked Gordon to a one-year contract. Despite another suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, he could return to action for training camp, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

New England signed veteran wide receivers Dontrelle Inman and Demaryius Thomas, who's recovering from a torn Achilles—both on one-year deals as well. Rookie first-rounder N'Keal Harry will likely play a huge role in the offense for the upcoming season.

Phillip Dorsett can still be a solid player in the league, and if he were to be released by the Patriots, he would probably catch on with another team. If he wants to stay with the Patriots though, he is going to have to prove a lot during training camp and the preseason.
