Detroit Pistons shooting guard Luke Kennard may not return until the All-Star break, according to Pistons head coach Dwane Casey.

Kennard has been out since Dec. 23 because of tendinitis in his knees.

The Pistons are 14-26 on the season, tied with the Chicago Bulls for 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Luke Kennard has appeared in 28 games this season for the Pistons. He's averaging 15.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 39.9 percent from beyond the arc and 89.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Detroit could be headed for a rebuild, as they are widely expected to trade All-Star center Andre Drummond before the February trade deadline. The Pistons have reportedly spoken to a few teams about a Drummond trade, including the Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks.

The Pistons made the playoffs last season for the first time since 2016, thanks to Blake Griffin's stellar play. However, Griffin has only played in 18 games this season and will likely miss the rest of the year after undergoing another surgery on his left knee.

The Philadelphia 76ers have interest in Kennard and Langston Galloway.

By all accounts, Detroit really values Kennard. However, the Pistons may have to include Kennard in a Drummond trade since he's a young player with a lot of upside and teams will covet him.
