Anthony Joshua unified the heavyweight titles with a unanimous decision win over Joseph Parker on Saturday in a match that did not live up to the hype in terms of action. Andre Drummond and Quincy Acy tried to top that bout on the basketball court, but that, too, looked more pathetic than exciting.

Drummond and Acy got into each other’s faces during Sunday’s Detroit Pistons-Brooklyn Nets game at Barclays Center, nearly causing an all-out brawl between the two team.

The skirmish happened late in the third quarter with the Pistons leading Brooklyn, 83-70. Both men were going after a loose ball that caused them to get entangled with each other. Quincy seemed to have started the altercation, but it was Drummond who managed to throw a punch, which incensed Acy even more. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed to break up the tussle, but not before a referee got inadvertently clocked in the face by Acy.

Andre Drummond and Quincy were both called for technical fouls and were also thrown out of the game. According to Rod Beard of The Detroit News, Drummond even ripped his jersey apart as he made his way to the locker room, perhaps just to expel that extra adrenaline he was not able to use against Acy.

#Pistons Andre Drummond just tore off his jersey like the Incredible Hulk and headed to the locker room. Both Drummond and #Nets Quincy Acy are ejected.

All told, this was just how a typical fight goes in the NBA these days – lots of bark but barely any action.
