Carmelo Anthony has had a very challenging season, to say the least. From the New York Knicks failing to win enough games to make it to the playoffs, to the never-ending trade chatter surrounding him, there have been plenty of distractions that could've gotten the best of him.

Fortunately for Anthony, he has a strong support system in his family and friends, that has kept him focused on remaining professional in his job. However, what many do not know is he owns a soccer team in Puerto Rico, whose employees, including their front office personnel, have also given him tons of support.

Puerto Rico F.C.'s president, Tom Payne, recently talked about how the 10-time NBA All-Star is as a team owner, via Scott Cacciola of The New York Times. He only had good words for Anthony and even went as far as saying his boss is very patient, similar to how he has dealt with all the distractions the Knicks have given him this season.

“He’s really patient. Look how he puts up with all that garbage in New York.’’

Payne also recalled the time when he watched Anthony play in Madison Square Garden earlier this season, and did not hold back by saying he couldn't believe people paid to watch the Knicks play.

“I went to a game this year, and I was like ‘What am I doing paying this kind of money to watch this?'”

This summer will be a very busy one for Anthony and the Knicks as they are both expected to come up with big decisions regarding their respective futures. Although the 32-year-old owns a no-trade clause in his current contract, many still believe he will ultimately agree to be dealt, as both parties will be better off with a fresh start. For what its worth, whatever Anthony may decide on, he knows he can find solace from people who continue supporting him, just like his soccer team's president.
